Lolli Brands Entertainment has announced a new feature-length documentary currently in pre-production titled “The New Woo,” a film exploring the evolving intersection of science, consciousness, and regenerative health. The project continues the studio’s series of experiential documentaries examining emerging conversations in human health, performance, and longevity.
Produced by Lolli Brands Entertainment, the 59-time award-winning independent studio behind films such as “Biohack Yourself,” “From Fat Lolli to Six Pack Lolli,” “The Guru,” the upcoming women’s health documentary “sHEALed,” and the biodentistry documentary “Bye Ol’ Dentistry,” the new project will examine practices that have historically been dismissed as “woo” but are now increasingly being studied within scientific and clinical contexts.

“The New Woo” will explore modalities such as meditation, prayer, breathwork, frequency-based therapies, psychedelic-assisted treatment, and quantum biology. The film examines how these practices are being investigated for their potential roles in nervous system regulation, cellular communication, mental well-being, and broader human performance.
“Many of the conversations happening today around consciousness, nervous system regulation, and human potential are evolving quickly. As filmmakers, our role is to document these discussions responsibly and give audiences the opportunity to hear directly from the researchers and practitioners who are studying them,” explained Anthony Lolli, president of Lolli Brands Entertainment and executive producer of “The New Woo.”

Rather than presenting a traditional investigative documentary format, the project follows the experiential filmmaking approach that has become a hallmark of Lolli Brands Entertainment’s productions. The film will document real-world experiences and conversations with researchers, practitioners, and innovators working in fields that sit at the intersection of biology, neuroscience, consciousness, and emerging health sciences.
According to the film’s producers, the documentary’s purpose is educational and public-facing. It is not designed to promote any single modality, belief system, or practitioner. Instead, it aims to document qualified perspectives and lived experiences from experts working in disciplines that are gaining increasing attention within health and performance communities.

Because the subject matter intersects with public health, mental well-being, and rapidly developing areas of medical research, the production is operating under heightened editorial standards. It will include evidence-aware discussions and appropriate context where emerging or evolving research is involved.

Participation in the film will follow an invitation-only model, in which the production team selectively invites a limited number of leaders, practitioners, and researchers whose work aligns with the documentary's themes. Selection is based on credibility, professional alignment, and relevance to the broader conversation around health and human potential.
Lawrence Ellyard, founder and CEO of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), serves as co-producer and casting director for the project. With more than 25 years of experience in the natural health industry and a background in transpersonal studies, Ellyard is assisting the production team in bringing together a diverse group of practitioners, researchers, and experts featured in the documentary.

“This film is about asking thoughtful questions and bringing together credible voices from different disciplines,” shared TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli, Lolli Brands Entertainment vice president and the film’s executive producer.
“Our goal is to create space for meaningful dialogue around areas of health and human experience that people are increasingly curious about.”
“The New Woo” represents the next chapter in Lolli Brands Entertainment’s ongoing documentary work examining the frontiers of human health and performance. The studio has built a global reputation for experiential health documentaries that combine real-world journeys with interviews from experts across multiple disciplines.
Additional details regarding filming locations, participants, and release timelines will be announced as production progresses. Stay tuned!
