Restoring Trust in Care: Andrea Forbes’ Human-Centered Vision in Bye Ol’ Dentistry

For Andrea Forbes, dentistry is not simply a clinical profession. It is a human experience that can either reinforce fear and disconnection or create a space where people feel safe enough to heal. As Director of Operations at the Center for Advanced Dentistry, Andrea works at the intersection of systems, people, and purpose, helping to shape an environment where clinical excellence and genuine human connection coexist.

That philosophy aligns closely with the mission of “Bye Ol’ Dentistry,” the Lolli Brands Entertainment documentary that challenges outdated dental experiences and highlights a more biologically informed, patient-centered future. While biological dentistry emphasizes biocompatibility, reduced toxic burden, and support for the body’s natural healing processes, Andrea brings another essential dimension to that model: the human experience of care.

Creating a Practice Where Patients Feel Safe

Andrea understands that many patients arrive carrying more than physical symptoms. They often bring anxiety, difficult memories, and deep mistrust shaped by previous healthcare experiences. She believes healing begins long before any procedure, starting with how a patient feels when they walk through the door, how they are greeted, and whether they feel truly heard.

This belief shapes the practice's daily experience in small but meaningful ways, from the tone of a phone call to the consistency of compassionate communication. Andrea often steps directly into these moments, helping ensure that every interaction reflects the practice's values and fosters safety, trust, and calm.

Translating Biological Dentistry Into Lived Experience

At the Center for Advanced Dentistry, Andrea helps translate the philosophy of biological dentistry into the actual patient journey. For her, this model is not only about protocols and materials. It is about creating conditions where the nervous system can settle, and healing can begin.

She recognizes that emotions, environment, and interpersonal care all influence health outcomes. By supporting a calm, respectful, and patient-centered atmosphere, Andrea helps bridge the gap between clinical philosophy and lived experience, ensuring that the values of whole-body dentistry are not only understood but felt.

Building Culture Behind the Scenes

Andrea is equally committed to the practice's culture. She views patient experience as a direct reflection of the care team, which is why she intentionally works to foster an environment where staff feel supported, appreciated, and connected to a shared mission.

Whether organizing team-building activities, celebrating milestones, or simply checking in with colleagues, she prioritizes relationships. Her leadership style reinforces collaboration, consistency, and care at every level of the organization. On any given day, she may assist with sterilization, coordinate front desk needs, or help communication flow across departments, always with a willingness to step in wherever needed.

A Foundation of Empathy and Everyday Leadership

Andrea’s background in Early Childhood Education from Clemson University continues to shape her approach to leadership and patient care. It strengthened the patience, empathy, and attentiveness that now define her work in healthcare. Outside the practice, she is also a wife and mother of four, roles that deepen her understanding of responsibility, compassion, and the creation of stability in complex environments.

These experiences inform the way she leads, helping her create spaces where both patients and team members feel supported, valued, and seen.

Bringing a More Compassionate Model of Dentistry Forward

Andrea’s participation in “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” reflects her commitment to expanding this message beyond a single practice. She believes many people carry painful memories of dentistry, moments where they felt rushed, dismissed, or unheard, and that these experiences often shape years of fear and avoidance.

Through the documentary, Andrea hopes to help people recognize that another kind of care is possible. One that is respectful, patient-centered, and rooted in whole-body health. Her role in the film is a natural extension of her daily work: advocating for a more conscious and compassionate approach to care and helping create spaces where patients can move from fear to trust.

For Andrea Forbes, the future of dentistry is not only about better techniques. It is about restoring trust, honoring the human experience, and enabling deeper healing.
