Healing Beyond the Smile: Dr. Simon Yu’s Integrative Vision in Bye Ol’ Dentistry

Dr. Simon Yu has dedicated his life to one guiding principle: true healing requires uncovering hidden causes of illness, often where patients least expect them. That commitment places him at the heart of “Bye Ol’ Dentistry,” the new Lolli Brands Entertainment documentary that challenges outdated dental and medical paradigms and reveals how oral health profoundly influences whole-body wellness.

“Bye Ol’ Dentistry” exposes how conventional dental practices can silently contribute to chronic illness, cancer, and neurological conditions when biocompatibility and infection risk are overlooked. Through expert insights and patient stories, the film highlights biological dentistry and integrative medicine as essential partners in restoring harmony between the mouth, brain, and body. Dr. Yu’s work exemplifies this physician and dentist collaboration, bridging internal medicine, integrative medicine, and biological dentistry to address root causes rather than symptoms.

A Career Rooted in Integrative Healing

Dr. Yu brings 40 years of experience in Internal Medicine and more than 30 years in Integrative Medicine. In 1996, he founded Prevention and Healing, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri, after recognizing the limitations of a medication-centered approach while serving for a decade as a regional HMO medical director. His clinical journey reflects a relentless pursuit of deeper answers for patients with complex, chronic illnesses, especially when conventional medicine falls short.

Bridging Medicine and Biological Dentistry

A pivotal moment in Dr. Yu’s career came when he began studying biological dentistry under Douglas L. Cook, DDS, author of Rescued by My Dentist. He saw that unresolved dental problems, including root canal infections, cavitations, galvanism, bite issues, and heavy metal toxicity, could complicate medical treatment and worsen systemic illness. This insight reshaped his practice and positioned him as a leading advocate for whole-body dentistry and integrated care, a theme central to “Bye Ol’ Dentistry.”

Innovation Through Acupuncture Meridian Assessment (AMA)

Drawing on 300 hours of medical acupuncture training and extensive study of biological medicine in Europe, Dr. Yu developed Acupuncture Meridian Assessment (AMA). This simplified, digitized system evaluates 40 acupuncture points in the hands and feet to detect disturbances linked to hidden infections and toxic exposures, sometimes before they appear on standard medical tests or dental imaging. AMA can help identify issues such as mercury toxicity, parasites outside of the GI tract, fungal infections, chemical exposures, food sensitivities, EMF stress, and oral infections that often go undetected.

Teacher, Author, and Global Educator

For more than two decades, Dr. Yu has taught AMA to physicians, dentists, and health professionals worldwide, offering training twice a year in St. Louis and once a year in Germany. He organized ten International Integrative Medicine Conferences and continues to lecture at innovative medical and biological dental conferences in the United States and abroad. He has authored three books, "AcciDental Cure: Extraordinary Medicine for Extraordinary Patients", "AcciDental Blow Up in Medicine: Battle Plan for Your Life", and "Accidental Cure 3: AI vs. Ancient Intelligence", each presenting his approach through clinical cases, practitioner insights, and patient guidance.

Shaping the Future of Oral Health

“Bye Ol’ Dentistry” positions biological dentistry as the future of oral care. The film shows how outdated procedures, like root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, and toxic materials, can silently compromise long-term health, while biologic approaches focus on minimally invasive treatments, biocompatible materials, and systemic healing. Through patient stories, research, and expert testimony, the documentary delivers a clear message: oral health is whole-body health.

Dr. Simon Yu is a pioneering voice in this movement. With decades of clinical experience, military leadership as a retired U.S. Army Reserve full colonel, and a career devoted to uncovering hidden causes of illness, his mission aligns with the vision of “Bye Ol’ Dentistry.” By integrating modern diagnostics with ancient healing wisdom, Dr. Yu is helping redefine medicine and dentistry for the 21st century, proving that the future of care is not just about treating disease, but about restoring balance, vitality, and resilience across the entire human system.
