After more than four decades of pioneering work in holistic and biological dentistry, Dr. Gene Sambataro is stepping into the spotlight as one of the featured experts in the groundbreaking new documentary, “Bye Ol’ Dentistry.” The film, which explores the future of dentistry and its vital role in whole-body health, will highlight Dr. Sambataro’s extensive contributions to advancing a more integrative, toxic-free approach to oral care.
“Bye Ol’ Dentistry,” a new documentary from Lolli Brands Entertainment, shows how oral health is the gateway to whole-body health and spotlights biological dentistry as a safer, integrative alternative. The film is expected to become the most comprehensive visual investigation of biological dentistry.

Guided by the Huggins Legacy
Dr. Sambataro, a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1980, has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between traditional dentistry and holistic health. After completing his hospital residency at the University Hospital in Baltimore, he began to recognize the undeniable connections between oral health and systemic wellness. This realization inspired him to move beyond conventional dentistry and adopt a holistic philosophy that would come to define his practice.
“For decades, dentistry has been treated as separate from overall health,” says Dr. Sambataro. “But research continues to show that nearly 80% of all illnesses can be connected to infections, toxicities, and imbalances in the mouth. ’Bye Ol’ Dentistry’ is about showing people that the old model of dentistry is outdated—and that we can embrace a future where oral care supports true healing and vitality.”
A strong advocate for toxic-free dentistry, Dr. Sambataro has long opposed the use of mercury amalgam fillings, fluoride treatments, and root canals that may introduce harmful substances into the body. Since 1986, he has been guided by the teachings of the late Dr. Hal Huggins, a pioneer in biological dentistry, and continues to practice the Huggins Protocol to this day. His dedication to patient education is equally important, as he strives to empower individuals with the knowledge to make healthier choices for their oral and overall well-being.

Integrative Credentials and Leadership
Dr. Sambataro’s professional affiliations reflect his commitment to staying at the forefront of integrative health. He holds a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry and is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine, the Holistic Dental Association, the International Dental Implant Association, and the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Beyond dentistry, he serves on the Board of the Maryland Society of Integrative Medicine, where he collaborates with other forward-thinking practitioners on holistic approaches to wellness.
His expertise extends into specialized fields such as sleep medicine and temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD). Having completed a mini residency at Tufts University in Sleep Medicine, he has spent over 30 years treating patients with TMD, training under some of the world’s most respected leaders in the field, including Dr. Harold Gelb, Mariana Rocabodo, John Barnes, and Dr. John Upledger. He is also the author of two influential books: ”Stop the Snore: Dental Solutions to Healthy Sleep” and “Your Guide to Holistic Dental Implants: The Permanent Solution for Missing or Lost Teeth.” He recently taught a lecture titled, “Hidden Dangers: Uncovering the Truth Behind Dental Cavitations,” at the 2025 Biological Dentistry Conference.
Cutting-Edge Tools for Patient Vitality
Today, Dr. Sambataro continues to push the boundaries of biological dentistry by incorporating cutting-edge healing modalities and biohacking technologies into his practice. These include photobiomodulation, PEMF, ozone therapy, the Biocharger, microcurrent devices, and the RASHA system. By combining state-of-the-art innovations with holistic wisdom, he is helping patients not only heal from dental issues but also unlock greater energy, resilience, and longevity.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sambataro is currently pursuing advanced studies through the Bioregenesis Academy, where he has earned his Master’s degree and is now enrolled in a PhD program in Quantum Morphogenetic Physic and Science. This academic pursuit underscores his lifelong dedication to understanding the deeper connections between human biology, energy, and health. He also recently completed the Biodentistry 3.0 courses through the Institute for Biological Dentistry with Dr. Dominik Nischwitz.

Bringing Biological Dentistry to the Mainstream
Produced by Anthony and TereZa Lollu through Lolli Brands Entertainment, the award-winning team behind “Biohack Yourself” and “sHEALed,” “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” is designed to reach far beyond dental professionals. Blending powerful patient stories with insights from global experts, the film takes a journalistic, accessible approach to reveal how oral health impacts the entire body. The documentary is positioned to bring biological dentistry into the mainstream and spark lasting awareness.
“Bye Ol’ Dentistry” will showcase Dr. Sambataro’s journey and philosophy alongside other innovators in the field, drawing attention to a new era in dentistry that prioritizes the body as an interconnected system. The film aims to challenge outdated practices and inspire both practitioners and patients to demand safer, more effective, and more holistic dental care.
“Being part of this documentary is a tremendous honor,” Dr. Sambataro shares. “My hope is that viewers walk away with a new understanding of the profound role dentistry plays in overall health—and feel empowered to seek out approaches that support their long-term wellness.”
The release of “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” comes at a pivotal moment, as more patients are questioning traditional practices and seeking integrative solutions to chronic health challenges. With leaders like Dr. Sambataro paving the way, the film promises to ignite an important conversation about the evolution of oral health care and its future.
