Dr. Thomas Levy, a world-renowned cardiologist, author, and expert in orthomolecular medicine, brings decades of medical and scientific insight to the Lolli Brands Entertainment documentary “Bye Ol’ Dentistry.” His participation underscores the film’s mission to unite thought leaders across medicine and dentistry to reveal how chronic oral infections and oxidative stress contribute to systemic disease, and how addressing these root causes can unlock true healing.
"Bye Ol’ Dentistry" explores the future of biological and regenerative dentistry, blending groundbreaking science with real-world stories from doctors transforming patient care. Through Dr. Levy’s lens, the film highlights how oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and oral toxins intersect, revealing why oral-systemic medicine is essential to modern healthcare.

From Cardiology to Cellular Medicine
Thomas Levy, MD, JD, graduated as the valedictorian of Notre Dame High School in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1968. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1972, graduated from Tulane Medical School in 1976, and completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the same school. He subsequently served for three years as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane before leaving for a private practice as a cardiologist. In 1998, he received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver College of Law.
Although Dr. Levy became board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases, his traditional medical training did not prevent him from being completely open to and fascinated by the work of Hal Huggins, DDS, MS, whom he met in 1993 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he had been practicing adult cardiology since 1991. Dr. Huggins is regarded as a pioneer in the practice of biological dentistry, viewing the diseases and conditions of the oral cavity as primary players in the causation and evolution of most medical conditions, especially cancers and heart disease.
The Turning Point: A New Medical Education
After meeting Dr. Huggins, Dr. Levy began what he had called his first real medical education. At Dr. Huggins’ clinic, he observed many patients improving substantially from diseases that he had been taught to regard as having no effective therapies, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and even ALS. Shortly after witnessing many extraordinary clinical responses, he shuttered his own cardiology office and began working full-time as a medical consultant to Dr. Huggins. Roughly a year later, after seeing the seemingly non-stop stream of groundless legal actions that were advanced against Dr. Huggins for his non-traditional dental practices, he enrolled in law school in Denver, beginning a near-daily commute between Colorado Springs and Denver for the next three years.
It’s worth noting that Dr. Huggins introduced Dr. Levy to the incredible uses and applications of properly administered vitamin C for infections, toxins, and healing in general. Since his meeting with Dr. Huggins, Dr. Levy has written eleven books and co-authored three others. His most recent book, The Only Cause of Disease, outlines the research and rationale demonstrating that all diseases ultimately start and are then propagated by increased oxidative stress in the affected organs and tissues, both intracellularly and extracellularly.
His new book shows that all diseases are the accumulation of oxidized biomolecules, and by repairing old cellular damage with quality antioxidants while stopping the exposure of affected cells to new, pro-oxidant toxins, all conditions can be substantially reversed and even often resolved. In particular, his research has demonstrated that abnormal, diseased cells can always be returned to normalcy when intracellular vitamin C levels can be returned to normal. The vital importance of bio-oxidative therapies, including vitamin C, hydrogen peroxide, ozone, ultraviolet irradiation, and hyperbaric oxygen, is also discussed in detail. His ongoing work continues to focus on contributing to the sound scientific basis for reaching this conclusion, as well as how to best slow and even reverse a variety of chronic degenerative diseases by lessening the levels of oxidative stress in the affected cells and tissues.

Honors and Continuing Research
For his past and ongoing contributions to orthomolecular medicine, Dr. Levy was inducted into the Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame in 2016, an organization that also includes two Nobel Prize laureates (Dr. Linus Pauling and Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi) who were pioneers in demonstrating the essential role vitamin C and its metabolism play in the body.
Dr. Levy continues to research, write, and lecture around the world about his writings and clinical experience, having traveled now to over 30 countries in the process. In particular, he is now concentrating on the overwhelming impact of excess toxins on health, and that for most people these toxins arise from chronic dental infections, especially from the gums, teeth, and tonsils. An earlier book, Hidden Epidemic, details how most breast cancers and nearly all heart attacks are due to the disseminated pathogens and toxins released into the blood and lymphatic system from chronic dental infections. And in spite of the massive and conclusive evidence that this assertion is true, it still remains largely unappreciated. To further disseminate this vital information, Dr. Levy is pleased to participate in the upcoming documentary "Bye Ol’ Dentistry".

Why “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” Matters
Dr. Levy’s participation in "Bye Ol’ Dentistry" underscores the film’s goal of redefining dentistry as a cornerstone of systemic health. His contributions bridge cardiology, law, and molecular medicine—offering an evidence-based framework for understanding how oxidative stress and oral toxins fuel chronic disease. Through his lens, the documentary reveals how biological dentistry can help prevent and reverse the silent epidemics of inflammation, infection, and degeneration.
"Bye Ol’ Dentistry" unites the world’s leading clinicians, researchers, and innovators to expose the hidden links between the mouth and body. Dr. Levy’s involvement brings a scientific rigor and medical authority that reinforce the film’s central message: the key to long-term wellness lies in addressing oral health as the foundation of all healing.
Looking Ahead
As both a physician and scientist, Dr. Levy continues to champion the integration of bio-oxidative therapies into mainstream medicine and dentistry. His mission is simple yet profound—to empower practitioners and patients alike to understand how oxidative stress underlies disease, and how restoring balance at the cellular level can lead to measurable healing and longevity.
