Dentistry has long been seen as separate from medicine, but Dr. Rich and his wife, Alina Porcelli, believe it is one of the most essential bridges between the two—and their life's work together has proven it. As founders of the Biological Center for Dentistry in the beautiful South—from the low country charm of Savannah, Georgia, to the coastal elegance of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina—the Porcellis are known not only for their advanced clinical expertise, but for their deep compassion and ability to walk with patients on healing journeys that go far beyond the mouth.

Produced by Anthony and TereZa Lolli of Lolli Brands Entertainment, “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” is a global documentary exploring the oral-systemic connection and the future of biological dentistry. The Porcellis’ inclusion brings both scientific and spiritual depth to the film—showing how faith, empathy, and biological precision can converge to restore not just oral health, but total wellbeing.

A Journey Rooted in Personal Experience

Rich and Alina's devotion to biological dentistry is inseparable from their own health story. Alina's health spiraled after a perfect storm of toxic burdens: two root canals from a judo injury in her youth, wisdom tooth extractions, and breast implants. What followed were years of mysterious, debilitating symptoms—a puzzling eye condition requiring multiple biopsies without answers, kidney complications, chronic neck and back pain, and eventually a Hashimoto's thyroiditis diagnosis.

For years, the couple pursued every therapy available, yet the symptoms persisted. The breakthrough came only when they connected the dots to oral and total body health—hidden BPA-based materials, lingering cavitations from past wisdom tooth extractions, metals in the mouth, and breast implant illness, causing underlying stress. Once these toxic oral and bodily burdens were removed, Alina's Hashimoto's went into remission. Her symptoms vanished.

For both, the realization was life-altering: dentistry could be the missing link in systemic health. This became the defining cornerstone of their practice philosophy: healing is not only clinical, but spiritual and emotional. Faith and prayer, peace with oneself, and a supportive environment are as important as nutrition, protocols, and procedures.

Alina Porcelli: From Patient to Wellness Advocate

Today, Alina serves as both a certified Biological Dental Hygienist and Operations Director of the Biological Center for Dentistry. Having walked the path from chronic illness to complete healing, she brings an irreplaceable perspective rooted in empathy, understanding, and lived experience.

Alina continues her advanced education in biological dentistry alongside Dr. Rich, committed to staying at the forefront of this evolving field. Her mission is clear: to help all those in need achieve optimal health. She knows the journey intimately—the desperation, the confusion, the hope—and guides patients through it with her own testimony as a beacon of possibility.

Where many feel unheard or dismissed by conventional medicine, Alina listens deeply. She understands what it's like to be told "it's all in your head" or to exhaust every option without relief. Her story offers hope, and her expertise provides a roadmap to healing.

Artistry Meets Biology

Dr. Porcelli's pursuit of excellence is reflected in his extensive training at world-renowned institutions, including The Dawson Academy, Pankey Institute, and Kois Center, mastering reconstructive dentistry and functional aesthetics. His commitment to biological medicine led him to study under Dr. Thomas Rau, one of the world's foremost practitioners of Swiss Biomedicine and optimal health.

Dr. Rich is an accredited Biologic Dentist with the International Academy of Biologic Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM), maintains a fellowship with the American Dental Implant Association, (ADIA), and continues advancing his expertise through Tufts University in partnership with the Academy for Biologic Innovations Surgery (ABIS) and the Academy for Medical and Oral Regeneration (AMOR), alongside renowned surgeon Dr. Shahram Ghanaati. He refines his skills through The Institute of Biological Dentistry, Biodentistry Global Standard, Holistic Dental Education, and the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).

Yet, what truly sets Dr. Porcelli apart is his artistry. Whether restoring smiles with biocompatible materials, performing complex surgeries and reconstructions, or guiding patients through safe amalgam removal, his work is marked by precision, aesthetics, and an eye for natural beauty. Patients describe their experience not simply as "dental care," but as a work of art infused with care and empathy. Dr. Rich believes a beautiful, functional smile is more than cosmetic—it is medicine for the soul.

A Dynamic Team of Skill, Compassion, and Love

Together, Dr. Rich and Alina Porcelli are a dynamic team—united in marriage and mission. Their partnership blends clinical excellence, biological wisdom, and heartfelt compassion. Dr. Rich's artistry and technical mastery combine seamlessly with Alina's nurturing presence and firsthand understanding of the healing journey.

They often say that many patients have "tried everything"—IV therapies, detoxes, supplements, biohacking—yet still remain unwell. For the Porcellis, this is where dentistry plays a vital role: removing oral toxic burdens, restoring balance, and guiding patients toward peace and healing. They believe true health is as much about faith and inner calm as it is about surgery, implants, nutrition, or holistic protocols.

Their practice is more than a clinic—it is a sanctuary where patients feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for. The Porcellis lead with presence: taking time with patients, listening deeply, and blending skill with empathy, faith, and love.

A Global Voice in Bye Ol' Dentistry

The Porcellis' inclusion in “Bye Ol' Dentistry” underscores the rising recognition of biological dentistry as a medical frontier. Produced by Lolli Brands Entertainment, the film unites global pioneers redefining the relationship between oral health and total wellness. By featuring experts like Dr. Rich and Alina, it shows how biologic care, faith, and science converge to heal the human body as a whole.

By sharing their story—Alina's journey from illness to healing, and their partnership in transforming that experience into a practice dedicated to others—they demonstrate how dentistry can be a turning point in chronic illness, autoimmunity, and unexplained symptoms.

Their voice adds a uniquely personal dimension to the global call for safer, biologically-based solutions. For them, dentistry is about restoring the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Their work in Savannah-Hilton Head Island has drawn patients from across the country and abroad, inviting the world to see dentistry not as the end of health, but as its beginning.

Vision Forward

The Porcellis envision a future where dentists and hygienists are seen not only as smile designers, but as architects of systemic health. A future where artistry, empathy, and faith meet science, and where biologic dentistry stands as a recognized cornerstone of medicine.

For Richard Porcelli, DDS, MS, and Alina Porcelli, RDH, dentistry is more than a profession—it is a calling. A calling to heal, to restore, and to guide patients toward both health and peace within themselves. Together, they demonstrate that when skill, compassion, and love unite, true healing becomes possible.
