You’ve Tried Everything, So Why Don’t You Feel Better? Your Body Knows Why

If you’re like most people, you’ve probably tried to “get healthy” more than once.
Maybe you cleaned up your diet. Added supplements. Started exercising. Followed a plan that worked for someone else. And yet… You still don’t feel the way you expected to feel.
You’re tired. Something feels off. And the most frustrating part? You don’t know why. You’re not alone.
We are living in a time where health advice is everywhere, and somehow, it’s never been more confusing. One expert tells you to go keto. Another says plant-based is the answer. Some swear by fasting, others say you should eat every two hours. Add in supplements, workouts, biohacks, and protocols, and it’s no wonder so many people feel stuck.
For years, I felt that same frustration, both as a doctor and as a patient. At 37 years old, I was running a successful dental practice, raising four young children, and doing everything I thought I was “supposed” to do to stay healthy. But my body was falling apart.
I couldn’t sleep. My hands tingled so badly I struggled to hold my dental instruments. My stomach constantly hurts. I had brain fog so severe that I couldn’t remember my patients’ names. I went from doctor to doctor looking for answers. Every test came back “normal.” The solution? A prescription and being told to cut down on stress. But I knew something wasn’t right.
I was watching my health decline with no explanation and no real answers. And eventually, I realized I was asking the wrong question. I had been asking, “What’s wrong with me?”
What I should have been asking was: “What do my cells need?”
The Shift That Changes Everything
At the most basic level, your body isn’t a collection of symptoms, diagnoses, or systems. It’s made up of about 37 trillion cells. Those cells run everything: your energy, digestion, hormones, immune system, and brain. Every function in your body depends on whether your cells are working well.
And here’s the part that changes everything: Your cells already know how to heal. Think about it. When you cut your finger, what heals it? It’s not the Band-Aid. Your cells regenerate tissue, fight infection, and repair damage automatically. The Band-Aid simply protects the environment while your body does the real work.
The same principle applies to every part of your health. Medicine, supplements, and treatments can support your body, but they are all just band-aids supporting your cells in doing the work they know how to do.

The Four Things Every Cell Needs
Once I understood this, everything became simpler. I figured out that every cell in my body and yours needs four basic things to function properly:
1. Supplies: This is the foundation. Food, water, oxygen, and key nutrients.
If your cells don’t have the raw materials they need, they simply can’t do their job. No amount of willpower or “pushing through” can override that. I once worked with a patient who was doing everything right - eating well, exercising, staying active- but her hair was falling out in clumps. The issue wasn’t effort. Her cells were simply missing key minerals they needed to function. When we replenished those supplies, her body responded quickly.
2. Support: Your cells also need a clean, functional environment.
That means your body must be able to move waste out effectively through your lymphatic system, digestion, and detox pathways. If waste builds up, even healthy cells can’t function well. Think of it like a house. If the trash isn’t taken out, it doesn’t matter how nice the furniture is.
3. Security: Your body needs protection.
Your immune system is constantly working to defend your cells from bacteria, viruses, and environmental stressors. But it needs support to do that effectively. When your cells feel “under attack,” your body shifts into survival mode instead of thriving.
4. Signals: This is the one most people overlook.
Your cells rely on signals that tell them what to do and when to do it. These signals come from things like light exposure, sleep, breathing, and even your connection to the natural world. If those signals are disrupted, your body can’t function optimally, even if everything else looks good on paper.
Why Most Health Plans Don’t Work
Here’s the problem with most health advice: it assumes everyone needs the same thing. But your body is not static. It changes constantly based on your environment, your stress levels, your lifestyle, and even the season you’re in, both physically and emotionally.
What works for one person may not work for another. What worked for you a year ago may not work today. That’s why so many people feel like they’re doing everything right and still not getting results. They’re following a plan instead of listening to their body.

Your Symptoms Are Not the Problem
One of the biggest mindset shifts I had to make, and now teach, is that your symptoms are not the enemy. They are messages. A headache, fatigue, digestive issues, poor sleep- these are not random inconveniences. They are your body's way of communicating that something is missing or out of balance.
But instead of listening, most of us have been trained to silence those signals. Take a pill. Push through. Ignore it. The problem is, when you silence the message, you never solve the underlying issue. When you start to interpret your symptoms instead of suppressing them, everything changes. You move from guessing to understanding.
A Simpler Way to Think About Wellness
After years of confusion, research, and personal experience, I realized something surprisingly simple: Wellness isn’t about doing more. It’s about giving your body what it needs. Not perfectly. Not all at once. But consistently. I created a special assessment to translate what symptoms mean.

When your cells have the right supplies, support, security, and signals, they do what they were designed to do- repair, regenerate, and keep you well.
