Dr. Katie To is a force in the intersection of dentistry and holistic health—a biological and cosmetic dentist whose personal journey fuels her professional mission. Based in Katy, Texas, she leads the Center for Integrative Wellness and Cosmetic Dentistry, where her approach goes beyond treating teeth: she treats the whole person.

Dr. Katie joins “Bye Ol’ Dentistry,” the new documentary from Anthony and TereZa Lolli of Lolli Brands Entertainment, which spotlights global experts reshaping dentistry into a discipline that supports whole-body health.

Early Life, Education & Turning Points

Dr. Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington. From there, she attended the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) for her dental training. While at dental school, she distinguished herself with research honors and awards in cosmetic dentistry.

Her path took a more personal turn when she confronted health challenges tied to toxicity and infertility. After exploring causes and solutions, she tested positive for mercury toxicity, which prompted her to reconsider conventional dentistry’s long-term effects on systemic health.

That pivot became her turning point: she adopted and advanced biological dentistry (also called wellness dentistry) as her primary framework. She left behind purely traditional models to build a practice that integrates oral health with whole-body wellness.

Areas of Specialization & Philosophy

Dr. Katie’s clinical specialties include:

  • Biological Dentistry & Holistic Modalities: She employs non-toxic biocompatible materials, safe mercury removal protocols, ozone therapy, laser-assisted gum disinfection, and biological surgical techniques, such as cavitation treatment and infected root canal removal.

  • Cosmetic & Esthetic Dentistry: Her practice is also a Certified Digital Smile Design (DSD) clinic. She uses cutting-edge technology to design smiles in harmony with facial esthetics and patient desires.

  • Integrative Wellness Approaches: For Dr. Katie, dentistry is never isolated. She factors in patients’ nutrition, sleep, inflammation levels, microbiome balance, and emotional wellness into treatment planning.

  • Continuing Education & Mentorship: Beyond patient care, Dr. Katie founded and leads Wellness Dentist Institute and offers coaching, online and in person masterclasses, and a study club to guide other dentists toward wellness-minded practice.

Her designations include membership in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and a distinction as the youngest Master of Biological Dentistry from the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM) and is their current President. She also holds the professional title of Master of Smile Design in DSD worldwide network.

Why ‘Bye Ol Dentistry’?

Dr. Katie’s decision to participate in “Bye Ol Dentistry,” a documentary about wellness and the future of dentistry, is rooted in both her personal story and her professional mission.

1. Personal Narrative & Credibility

Her own experience with mercury toxicity and its impact on her health gives her a powerful, authentic voice in the conversation about safe, wellness-based dentistry. For Dr. Katie, this isn’t theory—it’s lived reality. By sharing her journey, she brings credibility to the film’s message that conventional practices can carry hidden risks, and that safer, healthier alternatives exist.

2. Educational Mission

Beyond her personal narrative, Dr. Katie is a passionate educator. She views dentistry not just as a clinical profession, but as a platform for transformation. The documentary allows her to extend her reach, educating both the public and fellow dentists about how oral health connects to systemic wellness. For her, “Bye Ol Dentistry” is an opportunity to amplify her mission: to show that dentistry can heal, protect, and empower when approached with a wellness mindset.

A Portrait of Impact

“Bye Ol’ Dentistry” is the perfect platform for Dr. Katie’s expertise, combining her personal experience with mercury toxicity and her dedication to integrative, cosmetic, and wellness-based dentistry. The film showcases global leaders who are challenging outdated practices, and Dr. Katie’s story embodies this mission. By bringing both credibility and compassion, she helps highlight how dentistry can evolve into a discipline that heals the whole person—not just the teeth.

Through her life and work, Dr. Katie demonstrates that medicine and dentistry need not be siloed. She invites us to ask not just “Which filling do you need?” but “What is your body trying to tell you?” Her practice—encompassing aesthetics, detox, functional health, and education—embodies a new model of oral care that is restorative, preventative, and alive.

In joining “Bye Ol Dentistry,” Dr. Katie To is not merely lending her face or name; she is bringing a lived narrative, a professional ethos, and a clarion call. Her voice helps anchor the documentary not in fear-mongering but in real possibility: that with the right choices, dentistry can heal, not hurt; it can support vibrant life, not just manage disease.
