For nearly three decades, Dr. Griffin Cole has practiced and taught biological dentistry, earning recognition for his work in ozone therapy, mercury-free protocols, and public health advocacy. His clinical experience and leadership across professional organizations have made him a trusted voice for safer, evidence-based dental care.
Produced by Lolli Brands Entertainment, “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” blends expert perspectives with patient stories to show how oral health shapes whole-body wellness. Dr. Cole’s participation reflects his long-standing commitment to elevating standards and educating both clinicians and the public about biologically sound dentistry.

Education, Certifications, and IAOMT Leadership
Dr. Griffin Cole received his DDS from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1993 and practiced biological dentistry for 28 years in Austin, TX. He was recognized as one of the premier Biologic Dentists in Texas, attracting patients from all over the country. He became ozone certified in 2006 and received both his Board Certification in Naturopathic Medicine and his degree in Integrative Biological Dental Medicine in 2010 from the American College of Integrative Biological Dental Medicine (ACIMD). Soon after, he became an instructor at the school, teaching practice management and growth principles.
Dr. Cole received his Master’s in the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) in 2013 and drafted the Academy’s Fluoridation Brochure and the official Scientific Review on ozone use in root canal therapy. He is a past president of the IAOMT and serves on the Board of Directors, the Mentor Committee, Fluoride Committee, Education and Curriculum Committees, Conference Committee (as Chairman), and is the Fundamentals Course Director. As Fundamentals Director, Dr. Cole recruits leading experts to give presentations to all new attendees on topics including Zirconia Implants, Biological Periodontics, Dangers of mercury in dentistry, Fluoride, Airway/Sleep Dentistry, Root canals and Cavitations, Ozone Therapy, and Transitioning from traditional to biologic dentistry. Dr. Cole typically lectures on some of these topics at every meeting.

Public Advocacy, Research, and Media
Dr. Cole played an integral role in the 2013 U.N. Minamata Convention on Mercury in Kumamoto, Japan, where he provided critical information on dental mercury—one of the world’s largest sources of mercury exposure. In that same global effort, he helped develop and film the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) program for the IAOMT, which has since become the most widely recognized and adopted protocol for amalgam removal worldwide.
He has been featured on numerous radio and television programs, including World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer. Additionally, he has been published in numerous national peer-reviewed publications for his restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and in 2013 became the first dentist to be published in a peer-reviewed journal for his case study treatment of Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (BRONJ) utilizing ozone therapy for successful treatment of this disease. He was recently published in Public Health Challenges (December 2024) for his co-authored study on the true costs related to water fluoridation.
Dr. Cole is considered one of the current fluoride experts in the country and has lectured and testified before numerous US councils and legislatures. He is highly sought after for testimonials on fluoride science all over the country, and his evidence-based testimony has helped several municipalities successfully end fluoridation programs, earning him recognition as a trusted voice in public health advocacy.
He has lectured nationally and internationally for nearly three decades to audiences and health professionals on practice management and biological dentistry and is a featured expert on many health summits and podcasts. A former clinical instructor at the University of Texas Dental School and current dental consultant for patients all over the country, Dr. Cole is also the co-founder and President of the Center for Advanced Dental Disciplines.
Being one of the most recognized figures in biologic dentistry, Dr. Cole is now using his talents and experience to help doctors and patients alike with the following professional services:
Dr. Cole is one of the leading ozone therapy instructors in the country. His courses—both introductory and advanced—are consistently well attended and highly rated. What sets Dr. Cole apart is his detailed instruction and exceptional post-course support. Graduates appreciate having direct access to him for ongoing guidance, for as long as they need. Each training is designed to ensure that participants leave fully prepared to perform all ozone procedures with confidence immediately upon certification.
Dr. Cole offers personalized oral health consultations to patients across the country. With extensive experience in interpreting CBCT (3D cone-beam) scans, he excels at helping patients understand their diagnoses and guiding them through treatment options. Because many dentists simply don’t have the time to review scans and plans in detail, Dr. Cole’s consultative approach offers a unique and highly valuable service for patients.
Dr. Cole also offers private mentorship for dentists looking to fast-track their transition into biologic dentistry. With decades of experience building a successful, low-overhead, cash-based practice, he brings a practical, proven approach that sets him apart. His on-site consulting includes working closely with the entire team over a designated period, focusing on new patient flow, treatment planning, and case presentation. His hands-on guidance has helped dentists quickly elevate their practices and establish themselves as leaders in biologic dentistry.

Why “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” Matters
Filmed across North America, Latin America, and Europe, “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” examines the risks of outdated practices while highlighting biocompatible solutions that support whole-body health. The documentary’s goal is to bring biological dentistry into the mainstream conversation—among practitioners, policymakers, and patients.
For Dr. Cole, joining the film is a continuation of his life’s work: advocating for evidence-based, biologically sound dentistry and educating clinicians on safer protocols. His involvement adds depth to the project’s message and offers viewers practical pathways to care that protect long-term health.
