Dr. Cody Kriegel is a biological dentist and founder of Vios, an integrative dental clinic in Iowa, where the mission is to approach dentistry as an opportunity for whole-body healing. For Dr. Kriegel, dentistry has never been just about teeth—it has always been about people, health, and creating a new vision for what dental care can and should be. That is why he is honored to participate in "Bye Ol’ Dentistry," a documentary about the future of dentistry and the promise of biological approaches that transform lives.
Produced by Anthony and TereZa Lolli of Lolli Brands Entertainment, the award-winning team behind "Biohack Yourself" and "sHEALed," "Bye Ol’ Dentistry" blends expert interviews with compelling patient stories to reveal how oral health is inseparable from overall wellness. By exposing outdated practices and spotlighting biological solutions, the film seeks to elevate dentistry into a discipline that heals the whole person.

From Conventional to Biological Dentistry
Like many practitioners, Dr. Kriegel began his career in conventional dentistry. Over time, he recognized that traditional methods—while effective at mechanically fixing problems—often failed to address the deeper causes of disease. Too often, dentistry has operated in isolation from the rest of medicine, ignoring the reality that the mouth is the gateway to the body. He encountered patients who received treatments that solved immediate dental issues but left them struggling with chronic inflammation, autoimmune conditions, or systemic illnesses linked to hidden oral problems.
This realization sparked a transformation in his career.
Dr. Kriegel immersed himself in advanced training that aligned oral health with whole-body health. As a well-recognized expert in ceramic implantology, he holds fellowships with the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He has accumulated more than 600 hours of advanced training in biological and regenerative protocols, including ceramic implantology, ozone therapy, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), intravenous therapies, laser technology, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
More recently, he has completed the Maxi Residency in Biological Dentistry, Biological Surgery, and Implantology based on Guided Open Wound Healing through Tufts University—a groundbreaking program that integrates surgical expertise with biological principles.

Transforming Care at Vios Dental
At Vios Dental, Dr. Kriegel focuses on services that impact not only the mouth but the entire body. His expertise includes ceramic implants which are biocompatible, metal-free solutions that restore function and aesthetics without the inflammatory risks of titanium; SMART amalgam removal, safe protocols for mercury removal that protect patients, staff, and providers; cavitation surgery which addresses hidden jawbone disturbances often overlooked in conventional dentistry but linked to chronic inflammation; and advanced healing protocols which uses ozone, PRF, IV therapies, photobiomodulation, and hyperbaric oxygen to accelerate recovery and support whole-body wellness.
Patients travel from across the country to Iowa for this unique, integrative approach, seeking not just a dental procedure but a pivotal step on their healing journey.
Achievements and Mentorship
In 2024, Dr. Kriegel was named one of ten U.S. Ambassadors and global leaders in ceramic implantology. This role allows him to collaborate with international colleagues who share his vision for redefining dentistry and oral surgery utilizing true biomaterials. He has also lectured nationally and internationally, including at the JCCI Conference in Konstanz, Switzerland, where he presented on the oral-systemic connection and dentistry’s role in the chronic disease epidemic.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Kriegel is passionate about mentoring the next generation of dental professionals. He co-founded The Dental Assistant Collective by Vios, a training platform that equips assistants in biological dentistry with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive. His conviction is simple: if the profession is going to change, it must begin with those who support patients every single day.
Dr. Kriegel often shares with patients and colleagues that the future of dentistry is already here. Health-forward innovation is crucial, and he believes biological dentistry represents a safer, smarter, more integrative path forward. Being part of "Bye Ol’ Dentistry" is not just about one practice or one dentist—it is about amplifying a movement that is bigger than any individual. It is about inspiring patients and practitioners alike to ask bigger questions, demand better solutions, and embrace a vision of dentistry that aligns with life and health.

Why “Bye Ol’ Dentistry” Matters
Dentistry is at a crossroads. For decades, the profession has been defined by restorative procedures, insurance-driven models, and a narrow focus on the mouth alone. The future—captured powerfully in "Bye Ol’ Dentistry"—is about connection: connecting oral health to systemic health, connecting patients to purpose, and connecting dentists to a deeper calling.
The film positions dentistry not as an isolated trade but as a critical part of medicine that influences chronic disease, vitality, and longevity. By bringing together pioneers like Dr. Kriegel, it demonstrates how modern biological dentistry offers safer, evidence-based solutions while honoring the body as a whole. Through global distribution and ongoing promotion, "Bye Ol’ Dentistry" aims to ignite a conversation that will reshape both patient expectations and professional standards
Dr. Kriegel chose to participate in this project because he believes biological dentistry is not simply an alternative. It is the future.
Rooted in science, patient-centered, and deeply humane, biological dentistry acknowledges that every choice made in the mouth—from materials to surgical techniques—affects the health of the whole person. For him, "Bye Ol’ Dentistry" is an opportunity to share this message more widely. Too often, patients assume conventional options like root canals, metal restorations, and quick fixes are their only choices. The documentary highlights a new way forward—one that prioritizes safety, longevity, and healing.
For Dr. Cody Kriegel, biological dentistry is more than the future of dentistry. It is the future of health.
