DR. DANA MCGRADY'S PRESCRIPTION FOR THE MODERN WOMAN
Heal the Gut, Heal the Body
COURTNEY MCGEE
2025

Dr. Dana McGrady is not your typical healthcare provider. A Doctor of Oriental Medicine with a passion for homeopathy, advanced nutrition, and integrative medicine, she began college at 14, opened her first clinic at 21, and has spent over two decades empowering women to reclaim their health. But if you ask her what the root of nearly every modern health issue is, her answer is simple — and surprising.
“Leaky gut is the root of everything,” Dr. McGrady said in an interview with TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli and Anthony Lolli, Editors-in-Chief of longevity and wellness platform Biohack Yourself, for the influential upcoming women’s health documentary, “sHEALed.” “Autoimmune disease, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, aging — it all starts in the gut.”
Known for her holistic, woman-centered approach, Dr. McGrady’s patient base has always been 95% female. Why? “Because women lead the way in healthcare,” she says. “If you help a woman heal, she brings her whole family with her.”
And that’s exactly what she’s been doing — not just for individuals, but for generations.
The sHEALed Documentary is the sister documentary to Biohack Yourself, which became a massive success after exploding on the scene in December 2024 and ignited a firestorm of interest in information focused on health and longevity. Biohack Yourself features 114 prominent and respected high-profile politicians, doctors, bestselling authors, Ph.D.s, M.D.s, scientists, chemists, inventors, biotech investors, and world-renowned academics. Stemming from the success of Biohack Yourself, TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli and Anthony Lolli have grown Biohack Yourself Media to become the number one resource for health news, publishing over 500 articles ranging from breaking news to peer reviewed content.
A Family Legacy in Integrative Healing
Dr. McGrady’s journey into wellness began with her father, an ER doctor who walked away from the hospital system in the 1980s after being reprimanded for recommending a vitamin C IV. “He realized his calling was to help people prevent disease, not just manage it,” she recalls.
Mentored by her father and surrounded by a family steeped in alternative health — including a brother in organic farming, another running the family’s supplement company, and a mother who turned their nutritional brand into a seven-figure business — McGrady was destined to become a pioneer in her own right.
Her clinic, Core Integrative Wellness in Tampa, blends the best of Eastern and Western practices: homeopathy, energetic medicine, hormone balancing, and advanced gut health protocols. Her upcoming supplement line, CORE, will soon launch on Amazon with a gut-restoring formula and adrenal health solutions to help patients heal from the inside out.
The Three Phases of Healing
McGrady’s approach to care is methodical yet personalized. She organizes treatment into three phases:
Detox – “Take out the trash.”
This involves clearing pathogenic bacteria, parasites, mold, heavy metals, pharmaceutical residues, and vaccine-induced toxins from the body. “You can’t clean a kitchen without taking out the trash,” she says.Support – “Rebuild the system.”
This includes support for thyroid, adrenals, gut lining, nervous system, and more using herbs, glandulars, and targeted supplements. “You can’t heal in a toxic environment — physically or emotionally,” she adds.Maintenance – “Sustain your gains.”
Once the system is restored, habits like clean eating, movement, stress management, and sleep become the foundation for long-term wellness.
“My goal is not to keep patients dependent,” McGrady says. “It’s to empower them to take their power back.”

The Epidemic of Adrenal Fatigue and Hormonal Chaos
One of the most common issues Dr. McGrady sees in women is adrenal fatigue — a condition she says underpins everything from anxiety and insomnia to stubborn weight gain and hair loss.
“Your adrenals are your stress management core,” she explains. “If they’re overworked, your whole hormone system crashes.”
She describes the adrenal-thyroid connection as “peanut butter and jelly.” Both must be addressed simultaneously to restore hormonal balance, energy, and mood.
For adrenal support, she offers supplements that act like “stem cells for your adrenals,” promoting regeneration and hormone regulation. The result? Patients report better sleep, weight loss, mental clarity, and emotional calm.
Leaky Gut: The Hidden Epidemic
If there’s one thing Dr. McGrady wants women to understand, it’s this: nearly everyone has some degree of leaky gut.
Caused by factors like antibiotics, alcohol, gluten, glyphosate, stress, and processed foods, leaky gut occurs when the intestinal lining is damaged, allowing toxins and pathogens to enter the bloodstream. This triggers systemic inflammation and autoimmune responses.
“Think of your gut lining like a coffee filter,” she says. “When the holes get too big, everything leaks through — toxins, parasites, even viruses. That’s when the body attacks itself.”
Her leaky gut protocol begins with clearing out harmful bacteria like Clostridium and thickening the gut lining with probiotics and collagen-boosting nutrients. Villi — the tiny finger-like structures that absorb nutrients — begin to regenerate, and with them, vitality returns.
“Within three to six months, I’ve seen people go from chronic fatigue and brain fog to glowing skin and sustained energy,” she says.
Technology Meets Tradition
Unlike most conventional doctors, McGrady doesn’t rely solely on bloodwork. Instead, she uses German-developed electrodermal screening (EDS), a form of energetic medicine that detects imbalances in acupuncture meridians.
“Bloodwork shows what’s circulating. EDS shows what’s functioning — what’s active, inflamed, or suppressed,” she explains.
Through this testing, she can detect hidden infections, inflammation, food sensitivities, and even long COVID symptoms — all without invasive procedures.
“EDS is used in Germany’s top cancer centers,” she says. “They focus on prevention. In the U.S., we profit from sickness.”

Medical Weight Loss and Stem Cell Therapies
Dr. McGrady also offers modern biohacking therapies including:
Peptide Therapy (GLP-1 drugs like semaglutide and tirzepatide): “Microdosing can help women over 35 combat hormonal weight gain and stabilize glucose without extreme dieting,” she says.
Ozone and NAD+ IVs: “These are powerful anti-aging tools that support mitochondria, immunity, and detox.”
Stem Cell and PRP Treatments: For both cosmetic and musculoskeletal healing. “We use patients’ own plasma to regenerate skin, joints, and more — aging backwards naturally.”
Virtual Healing from Anywhere
Patients can work with Dr. McGrady in person or via telemedicine. Her team sends at-home test kits for DNA sampling and uses energetic testing to assess the body’s systems remotely. Virtual consults allow patients to get started immediately, without waiting weeks for travel or lab results.

Dr. McGrady’s Wellness Checklist
If you’re ready to transform your health, here’s what Dr. McGrady recommends:
Commit to a leaky gut cleanse once a year — just like a dental cleaning.
Remove gluten during the healing phase (especially U.S. wheat).
Prioritize adrenal support if you’re tired, anxious, or not sleeping well.
Test your methylation pathways — especially if you have MTHFR gene variants.
Support detox daily: drink filtered water, sweat, and nourish the liver.
Work with a provider who addresses root causes, not just symptoms.

Remember: your body knows how to heal — it just needs the right conditions.
A Message of Urgency and Empowerment
Dr. McGrady wants women to stop accepting illness as identity.
“Autoimmune disease isn’t a badge of honor. It’s a signal from your body — a cry for help. And there’s a way to turn it around.”
She urges women not to wait for disaster before prioritizing health.
“Your greatest asset is your health. Don’t wait until it’s gone to realize that. Invest in it now — not just for yourself, but for your children, your family, your future.”
