THE BIOHACKING MAMA: COLETTE SCHNABEL
Journey from Trauma to Transformation
COURTNEY MCGEE
2025

In a wellness world often dominated by jargon, elite retreats, and thousand-dollar devices, Colette Schnabel stands out — not just for her authenticity, but for her mission. Affectionately known as the “Biohacking Mama,” Schnabel is reshaping the health conversation with something rarely seen in the space: grounded, lived experience.
As Associate Casting Director of the groundbreaking documentary “sHEALed” and a wellness entrepreneur and educator, Schnabel is a force of nature. Her story is one of resilience, transformation, and a deep desire to empower women — especially mothers — with tools to reclaim their health, their autonomy, and their voice.
“For years, I was lost. I didn’t know where to start, who to trust, or even what words would help me find the path forward,” Schnabel said in a moving interview with TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli and Anthony Lolli, Editors-in-Chief of longevity and wellness platform Biohack Yourself. “That’s why sHEALed is so important — it’s the resource I wish I had.”
The sHEALed Documentary is the sister documentary to Biohack Yourself, which became a massive success after exploding on the scene in December 2024 and ignited a firestorm of interest in information focused on health and longevity. Biohack Yourself features 114 prominent and respected high-profile politicians, doctors, bestselling authors, Ph.D.s, M.D.s, scientists, chemists, inventors, biotech investors, and world-renowned academics. Stemming from the success of Biohack Yourself, TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli and Anthony Lolli have grown Biohack Yourself Media to become the number one resource for health news, publishing over 500 articles ranging from breaking news to peer reviewed content.
From Pain to Purpose
Schnabel’s wellness journey began, as many do, with personal crisis. After losing her first pregnancy and receiving little more than a vague explanation from doctors, she was left feeling powerless. But that loss catalyzed a deeper inquiry — one that led her to the concept of empowered birth.
“When I got pregnant with my son, I decided I would do everything in my power to create a healthy pregnancy,” she said. “That’s when I found hypnobirthing.”
Reading HypnoBirthing: The Mongan Method opened Schnabel’s eyes to what the female body is truly capable of — and how fear, especially around birth, has been weaponized by modern medicine.
“We’re conditioned to fear birth. Movies show women screaming, in pain, needing rescuing,” she explained. “But that fear creates tension, which creates pain. I learned to meditate, release fear, and trust my body — and I had the most beautiful, pain-free birth.”
That experience lit a fire. She couldn’t stop talking about it. And that was the beginning of her transformation into a wellness educator — not by academic training, but through intuition, trial, and truth.
Bridging Biohacking and Motherhood
What sets Schnabel apart in the biohacking world is her relatability. She’s not a doctor or a lab coat-clad researcher. She’s a mom who discovered that biohacking — often seen as exclusive, expensive, and elite — could actually be life-saving, accessible, and simple.
“My first biohacking conference was Dave Asprey’s. It was amazing — but also shocking,” she said. “The average attendee made $150,000 to $300,000 a year. I was a stay-at-home mom. I realized this information had to be shared in a more inclusive way.”
For Schnabel, biohacking doesn’t start with red light beds or cryo chambers. It starts with grounding. Morning sunlight. Breathing. Free and accessible tools that anyone can use — if they know about them. “God created this world with healing built in,” she said. “We just have to pause and plug back into it.”

Healing Through Frequency
After the birth of her son, Schnabel began experiencing chronic pain and anxiety. Despite working out daily and doing seasonal cleanses, her symptoms worsened.
“I was in so much pain I started to think I was going crazy,” she said. “Doctors couldn’t find anything. They just said it was anxiety.”
It wasn’t until a trusted coach introduced her to a frequency-based wearable device that everything changed. Designed to read the body’s energy and emit balancing frequencies, it shifted her physically and emotionally within days.
“I didn’t even research it — I just trusted her. Within three days the pain was gone. Within three months, I was a different woman.”
The transformation was so profound, Schnabel began sharing the device with others and eventually became an exhibitor at biohacking conferences. Her mission: to demystify the healing potential of energy and frequency for moms and families.
The Power of Story — and Community
Through her work on “sHEALed,” Schnabel has helped curate a cast of experts and thought leaders who empower women with real, actionable knowledge — not fear-based marketing or medical gatekeeping. “There’s never been a resource like this,” she said. “We’re not just sharing science — we’re sharing stories that give women back their power.”
And Schnabel believes everyone has a story that matters.
“Even if your trauma isn’t some huge, dramatic event — even if it’s emotional neglect, abandonment, manipulation — that still shapes your health,” she said. “We have to unlearn, heal ourselves, and stop passing that pain on.”
Her message is especially poignant for mothers: your healing becomes your child’s foundation.
Real-World Parenting, Holistic Style
In a world filled with artificial snacks, screen time, and processed food, Schnabel is raising her kids with intention — but without rigidity.
“Yes, we’re gluten-free, dairy-free. Yes, I’m that mom who brings the healthy cupcakes,” she laughed. “But I also let my kids be kids.”
What matters, she says, is education. Her children understand ingredients, ask for red light therapy when they have belly aches, and start their day with hydrogen water. They know about food dyes and frequency-based wellness. But they’re also allowed to explore, experiment, and learn through real-world experiences — like summer camps and birthday parties.
“They’re going to sneak a cupcake. That’s fine,” she said. “But we talk about it. We build awareness. And when they don’t feel well afterward, they connect the dots themselves.”

For Women Without a Tribe
Not every woman has a supportive partner, a wellness-minded community, or the privilege of staying home. Schnabel knows that — and she offers this advice:
“If your partner isn’t on board, change yourself first. That’s the only thing you can control. When your energy shifts, the household shifts. When you feel better, it’s contagious.”
She also encourages moms to start small, stay curious, and trust their intuition.
“You don’t need a medical degree to make good choices. You need curiosity, courage, and community — even if you build it from scratch.”
Vetting What’s Real
In an industry exploding with products, protocols, and influencers, Schnabel relies on her core values to filter the noise.
Founder Story: “If there’s no heart behind a brand, I’m not interested.”
Sourcing & Quality: “Where is it made? What’s in it?”
Layman Communication: “Science is great, but if it doesn’t resonate, it’s useless.”
Personal Testing: “I try everything before I recommend it.”
“My health comes at no cost,” she said. “But I still believe in affordability. There’s always a way to do more with less.”

What’s Next for the Biohacking Mama?
Now that she’s deeply immersed in wellness education, Schnabel is turning her focus toward precision biohacking — aligning her protocols with her unique genetics and biomarkers. She’s also working to empower other mothers to build wellness businesses from home.
“I want to show moms they can be financially abundant while raising healthy kids. You don’t need a network. You can build one.”
Ultimately, her journey is about sovereignty — over body, mind, spirit, and household.
“Every woman deserves that ‘aha’ moment — the realization that she has power, choice, and agency,” Schnabel said. “And once she has it, everything changes.”
