The majority of Americans approve of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a new poll shows.
As confirmation hearings begin for President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominees, a new poll from PBS News/NPR/Marist shows that RFK Jr. is leading the favorability ratings.
Of the 1,387 U.S. adults surveyed between January 7 and 9, 2025, 40% had a positive impression of Kennedy Jr., 37% had an unfavorable view of the HHS secretary nominee, and 23% either never heard of him or were unsure.
The 70-year-old health advocate and environmental lawyer was the only Trump cabinet pick mentioned in the survey with a favorable rating higher than his unfavorable score.
Pete Hegseth, the nominee for Defense Department head, only had a 19% favorability; 26% found him unfavorable, while 55% were unsure or didn't know enough about him. Marco Rubio, a secretary of state nominee, had scores of 25% favorable, 34% unfavorable, and 41% unsure.
Elon Musk, the billionaire tech tycoon who could lead Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, had the highest unfavorable score at 46%. Only 37% liked him, while 17% were unsure or hadn't heard of him.
Even President Trump continues to have doubters--49% have an unfavorable opinion of the returning president, while only 44% of Americans approve of him.
As for outgoing President Joe Biden, he's leaving the White House with even more critics. Despite Biden's final job approval at 42%, more than 1 in 3 Americans (34%) believe he will be remembered as one of the worst presidents in U.S. history. Only 5% of the respondents consider him one of the nation's best leaders.
President Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States on Jan. 20. An inauguration ball for his HHS seat is also scheduled for Kennedy Jr. on Monday. Biohack Yourself Media is the sole media partner covering the historic event.
