From misinformation to integrity

LATEST STORIES

Whether someone is on their wellness journey and they have saline implants or breast implants made from silicone, the impact of an inflammatory driver is real.

In a world filled with social media influencers, there’s an issue of being at odds with integrity when giving wellness or biohacking advice, and advocating for Breast Implants.

Whilst I have no judgment for those who have had breast augmentation and mastectomy patients who have felt they had to reconstruct, the goal of a bio hacker is to make sure they are optimizing their biology and health harmonization, which is going to go against the way the body is working to heal and adapt.

I had to learn the cold, hard truth as a wellness expert, presenter, and educator who ended up with Breast Implant Illness as a result of an undetected rupture and a mistake I made that took years to forgive myself for. A couple of years ago, I had an Explant and removed the implants and their surrounding scar tissue.

I almost died when six surgeons and an MRI said I was fine. More information needs to be exposed, which is why I acknowledge that medicine isn’t a perfect science and felt compelled to release my 10th Health title, “Treasured Chest,” exposing Explant and empowering you!

You see some may say that they’re on their own journey of what health and biohacking means to them and that as long as they’re doing all the other things, and Breast Implants are the only thing to mention that is not a health device, we fail to acknowledge that the body is adapting to a ticking time bomb and toxic stressor that is impacting on every single system.

This is why you cannot merely have breast implants and be a biohacker. I remember having to take so many supplements just to keep my body adapting and fighting the constant infection that the foreign body within my body was creating. Before my surgery to remove the implants, I remember opening up my kitchen, cupboard, and seeing a lineup of about 20 to 30 supplement containers. I had dreamed of a life where I didn’t need to supplement my nutrition, which was all going straight to the side of infection, and instead wished for being able to assimilate nutrition straight from my food.

Fast track to today, and I’m doing just that!

I had always been a wellness educator ever since I left school and now at almost 52 years of age, I am absolutely relieved that I was able to remove the deep shame, address, the root reason of why I implanted in the first place and went on a detoxification and healing journey, both physically and emotionally. Now, I’m happy to say that I’m 100% organic, and hacking biology is about allowing our bodies to have a better quality of life, naturally!

Dr. Pierre Blais, a Canadian researcher and advisor for Canada‘s equivalent of the FDA, studied breast implants for decades and discovered that in 20,000 breast implants, there were multiple varieties of bacteria, yeast, and mold.

Literally dozens! His job is to research medical device faults, and he came to the conclusion that valves are not permanently closed. This allows fluid to come in and fluid to come out, creating several sicknesses.

I have been researching health and wellness for 30 years; this “new” subject is actually not that new.

Before you undergo any surgery, and in particular this one, it is crucial to research on every level and, of course, investigate what's going on for you in your own body to make sure that you are well and safe.

Don't you worry, I had so much doubt and questioned whether I really had breast implant illness, I would ask myself: "What if it is something else? What if I can address that? Perhaps I really am just getting older, or it is PTSD, or perhaps it's just a food intolerance?" Indeed, most health challenges are multifactorial, and it is important for us to look at all of our history and symptoms that present. Just know that no matter what your genetic predisposition is or what other illnesses were going on prior to your implants, as well as the current new symptoms, the point is that your body is going to be better off without this inflammatory driver of your implants.

At some point, we start to learn that the body cannot adapt any longer to these inflammatory drivers, and your genetic predispositions may start to become expressed as a result of the extra burden or stress in the body.

So the question is - why not give my body an optimal chance to be able to heal and express health better?

Why do I want to fast-track any kind of genetic predisposition illness from occurring?

In case you missed it, cosmetic surgery is not all it “busts out” to be!

Even though this phase of my life initially somewhat helped my mental wellness (although it was a 'patch up' solution), at what cost do you risk your overall health?

The “patch up” solution, like any drugs or medicine, may be good to save you from what you're experiencing, but at some point, you'll need to go back and address the root issues or clean up the mess.

I'm not the only one starting to realise. Millions over the world are desperate to have their symptoms from the systemic response and inflammatory storm that implants cause, validated.

Breast Implants

Exploring the hidden health impacts of breast implants through biohacking.

Breast implant illness, you'll soon learn, is actually "mast cell activation syndrome," and it's real. The mast cells (immune cells) start to attack one another, and your entire body often shuts down (like mine was) once you start to reject the implants.

Dr Tania Ash, who assisted me on my journey back to health, is still a huge part of my life. She is always contributing to the medical profession with her knowledge about what breast implant illness really is, and her area of expertise is this, and what she believes is actually MCAS - mast cell activation syndrome.

What a bittersweet pill that Dr. Tania had to endure this horrible disease so that she could help others. She knows firsthand how this feels and how it can be helped.

We all pay for it in more ways than one, and it's costly.

Let's not forget that there are not enough specialist surgeons who can remove the scar tissue capsule with the bag, so leaving that inside is potentially leaving the carcinoma in.

I only just survived an undetected rupture that six surgeons over two years (or more) didn't detect.

I was slowly dying with all bodily symptoms shutting down. I wanted my implants removed when everyone said there was no leak. I insisted and kept asking to be triaged. Finally, on 20 February 2023, I returned to Sydney and had a groundbreaking surgery where the scar tissue was removed with the bag.

I'm redefining beauty standards, whilst empowering women all over the world to get ready to remove.

You don't need an undetected rupture like me to suffer implant illness. There's mold, bacteria, new types of capsule cancers, and leaks in valves.

The AMA (American Medical Association) journal has reported:

The first major silicone breast implant lawsuit was in 1984, when Maria Stern won $211,000 in compensatory damages and $1.5 million in punitive damages from silicone breast implant manufacturer Dow Corning after claiming that her breast implants caused autoimmune disease. At the trial, Stern introduced as evidence Dow Corning internal documents suggesting that the company was aware of high rupture rates and gel bleed with silicone breast implants.

The Stern lawsuit went largely unnoticed until 1990, when, on the eve of congressional hearings on the safety of breast implants, a program on the dangers of silicone implants aired on Face to Face with Connie Chung.

Interestingly, the only three scientific experts who testified at the subsequent congressional hearings were also paid expert witnesses for plaintiffs in breast implant litigation. Pressured by congressional hearings and media reports, the FDA's General and Plastic Surgery Devices Panel met to discuss the safety of silicone breast implants. Medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, urged the panel to oppose a ban on implants. The panel agreed that silicone breast implant manufacturers had submitted safety data insufficient to resolve the issue and recommended that the implants remain available pending further safety studies.

Decades later, we still have breast implant illness sufferers, so we have to all question: why?

Why does the FDA allow manufacturers to create a legal shield called pre-emption, exempting them from any liability, as the New York Times reported? That they're "immune from liability" or accountability as they perform more than 300,000 implant surgeries a year?

How many women have breast implant illness as a result? How many are probably sick and have no clue it's their implants!

All these decades later, the FDA will probably tell you there isn't enough research to prove breast implants cause illness. Yet this is why it's important to support researchers, such as my explant surgeon, whom we will learn more about in this chapter.

Professor Anand Deva is a fourth-generation doctor who is very committed to why he and his family became medical doctors in the first place. He is dedicated to health. Please remember that when you see a cosmetic surgeon, of course, they're focused primarily on your aesthetics. We need to educate them more and provide them with more research on how the illness has progressed.

The more research we have, the more we educate the surgeons on a grassroots level. Perhaps, then, this will dictate the way in which the FDA handles things.

One can only hope and manifest. It is my wish that they will listen. We are all literally "dying to be well!"

I'm observing:

  • Shame and stigma - "You did this to yourself, so why should healthcare cover your mistake?" culture.
Shock and sadness for those who have loved ones with plants. They want to be able to help.
Sufferers are feeling as though they have not been properly informed of the toxic ingredients and risks/surgeons creating repeat business.
Subculture of online support groups on Facebook with hundreds of thousands/millions of women sharing privately and intimately their stories and photographs of suffering or triumphs.
Misinformation due to the cosmetic industry protecting itself by conflicting with Doctors and researchers like Dr Tania Ash and Professor Anand Deva, who are aware of the commercial aspect and are invested in "duty of care."
The professional industry as a whole is changing its business models with a new demand for explants and with data to support the implants as the inflammatory driver causing “mast cell activation syndrome.”
Breast implant illness sufferers are expressing what they call "medical gaslighting" because they feel unheard, as though their symptoms have not been properly listened to, and the medical profession has been denying that breast implant illness is real.

  • Not all surgeons are recommending or performing a complete or Total Capsulectomy surgery to remove the surrounding tissue.

  • Breast implant illness is actually an entire systemic response.

  • New research by breast implant illness expert Dr. Tania
Ash presents this as “mast cell activation syndrome.” It is a cytokine storm.

  • New data by Professor Anand Deva to support this, as a result of witnessing my surgery, has come to fruition.

  • Not enough trained surgeons to be able to fit in the number of women who need an operation. Their cost is so extraordinary that the women cannot even afford it, so they suffer for many years. They are literally slowly dying.

  • Implant illness isn't just about women who are suffering. Also affected are the trans community and breast cancer survivors with mastectomy who are then implanted with a secondary potentiality to develop another type of breast cancer.

  • Implant illness is not just in the breasts but can be sufferers with calf implants or other types of implants too.

  • There are too many undetected ruptures, such as my case, where six surgeons and an MRI did not pick up the hole in my left implant bag until the operation. New detection equipment is needed, and most recently, there is something called sonobreasts, operating out of Santa Monica, which can apparently pick up ruptures that an MRI cannot. We need better detection equipment so that we can triage the emergency cases.

  • The FDA recently announced, about five months ago, that the surrounding scar tissue is squamous cell carcinoma, and there are new cancers being discovered in the capsule daily.

  • The recent Allergan recall of all textured products has created a new type of cancer called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL)

  • Doctors are pushing for replacement products instead of warning women of the risks, and medical doctors such as Dr. Tania Ash are calling out for the TGA to have a black box warning label, the way the FDA has this is the only way to create true informed consent.

  • The question of medical negligence presses with class actions brewing and companies folding due to recalls

  • The question of silicone vs saline has been sold to us as a narrative that one is better than the other, or that textured vs smooth implants also may be better, but year after year, they are all proving toxic and dangerous with mold, bacteria, and ruptures or leaks in the valve. It's honestly just a ticking time bomb and just a matter of time.

Andi Lew on Biohack Yourself

Andi is featured on the award-winning documentary, "Biohack Yourself"

The way in which this story is told is a holistic approach because we are not just looking at the breasts as the sickness anymore but rather the entire system as though breast implant illness needs a new name now as we finally learn what it truly is Facebook group culture is purposely created so that it is a closed group with entry only by proof of illness. It is a testament to the audience needing support and growing rapidly without any marketing, but rather just word of mouth

Men are also being affected as they learn about their sisters, mothers, girlfriends, and friends who are all affected. They want to support women in redefining beauty as they help them to finally address the root cause of why they were implanted in the first place

Detox protocols

You're going to need to do some major detoxing on a physical level as well as your emotional level, as you detach from the old you and embrace the new you!

It's pretty exciting, actually. There will be tough times as your body purges or tries to find that balance again, but I want to get you started.

Just know that many women have had the opportunity to detox and gain their health back, and we want you to be one of those, too!

I felt very privileged being able to be guided by one of the best medical and integrative doctors who is an expert in breast implant illness, which is, as she says, effectively mast cell activation syndrome.

Having this overview understanding of what happens to our bodies when breast implants are in place is crucial, as you start to mop up the mess when you're in the explant stage.

Low histamine diet:

The mast cell activation syndrome diet seems to work for many women or sufferers who have developed an intolerance to foods that are high in histamines.

The challenging thing is that some people react to some foods, and others are fine with all the other foods. There is no 'one size fits all' approach in this low-histamine diet. I encourage you to try removing some foods and then re-introducing them to see which ones you are OK with and which ones you may be reacting to.
