Jason and Christos Asimakopoulos deliver the highest quality Greek products to the Biohacking community.
For years, the Asimakopoulos family spent their summers in the enchanting region of Pelion, Greece—a place steeped in mythology as the legendary home of the Centaurs. Beyond its stunning landscapes and historic sites, Pelion is renowned for its vibrant culinary scene. Every meal is a celebration of local, organic, and seasonal ingredients, all bursting with flavor and health benefits. Recognizing the need to share this extraordinary bounty with communities in the United States, Jason Asimakopoulos and his father Christos launched Asimos Foods in 2023.
Their mission began simply: to bring their favorite olive oil, crafted by the Voliotis family in Pelion, to the United States. After nearly twenty years of friendship and witnessing the cultivation of olive trees that are between 400 and 1,000 years old, Jason and his father channeled their respect and love into creating a business that allows everyone to savor this extraordinary product.
The journey of Asimos Foods took on new significance when health challenges impacted the Asimakopoulos family in 2020, highlighting the critical role of nutrition during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jason recognized that the U.S. grapples with significant health issues, with food standards frequently falling short of what’s needed for optimal well-being. In stark contrast, Greece, despite its economic hardships, upholds high health standards deeply rooted in a culture that views food as medicine. This respect for natural, wholesome ingredients has long inspired Jason, fueling his commitment to share that ethos with other communities.
Drawing inspiration from the ancient Greek wisdom of Hippocrates, often regarded as the father of modern medicine, Asimos Foods firmly believes that health begins with a nutritious diet. Their mission is to elevate the standards of food in the United States by providing only the highest quality Greek products. Each item in their collection is sourced from trusted producers in Greece who share a commitment to traditional methods and natural ingredients. Their curated assortment of Greek products includes:
Award-winning high potency olive oil from the beloved Voliotis family grove in Pelion
Honey and Propolis from a 200+ year-old family bee farm in Nafplio
Natural sea salt harvested from a protected nature reserve in Messolonghi
Wild-picked herbs from the Aegean Islands, celebrated for their flavor and health benefits.
Organic tea sourced from Thessaloniki

Our Honey
I first met Jason and his father Christos at the Hack Your Health conference in Austin. We quickly bonded over stories about Greece and how Greeks were the original biohackers.
In Ancient Greece, olive oil was used to produce medicine and cosmetics and was frequently used in athletic competitions and religious rituals. Hippocrates called it “the great healer” and Homer “liquid gold.” Globally, Olive oil has long been celebrated for its numerous health benefits, making the Mediterranean diet a model for optimal health. Rich in monounsaturated fats, particularly oleic acid, olive oil has been linked to reduced inflammation and improved heart health. Packed with antioxidants, olive oil also helps combat oxidative stress and is proven to lower the risk of many chronic diseases.
As a health professional, I was excited to learn that Asimos Foods offers an Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil containing a whopping 900+ polyphenol count certified by The World Olive Center for Health. The polyphenol content of most store-bought olive oils can vary from 100-500 depending on factors such as the type of olives used, the extraction method, and the quality of the oil.

Polyphenols are powerful antioxidants found in a variety of plant-based foods, particularly in fruits, vegetables, tea, and olive oil. These compounds play a crucial role in neutralizing harmful free radicals in the body, which help reduce oxidative stress and lower the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Incorporating polyphenol-rich foods can harness their protective benefits and enhance our overall health.
After purchasing two bottles of their premium olive oil, I was excited to spread the word on my coveted new health find. Since olive oil is heat sensitive, I enjoyed the EVOO by taking one tablespoon a day and using it as a topping on my food, avoiding heat in order to maintain its polyphenols and antioxidants content. Its taste was pungent and peppery, as any high quality olive oil should be. Needless to say, I finished both bottles within 2 months and am eagerly waiting for my next shipment!
I asked Jason what the feedback has been after him and his father have made the rounds at many health conferences this past year. He says, “They love it! It's amazing! As soon as they try our products, they want it in their kitchens. People at our shows really appreciate the health benefits and understand the quality of our ingredients. And we are lucky to be able to share personal stories connecting us to our products as well. The producers we source from are making natural products with traditional methods and there is a real desire for that here in the states.

My father and I are excited to bring more products and flavors from Greece. We are hoping we can have a brick and mortar shop in the future, so we can carry a bigger line of products and more variety. Having a healthy market filled with delicious Greek food would be an exciting thing to share with our community.
Our olive oil and honey, I feel, should be a staple in everyone’s kitchen. Olive oil is the first ingredient in any main dish, so having quality olive oil not only elevates your food but it's one of the healthiest ingredients you can own. And honey is so versatile, packed with bioactive compounds and more nutritious than sugar.”
For anyone wanting to improve their health and longevity with nutrient dense foods and ingredients, I would highly recommend Asimos foods products. The Asimakopoulos family inspires a healthier, more vibrant lifestyle in the United States by connecting people with the nourishing ingredients of Greece. By emphasizing quality and integrity of ingredients, Jason and his father Christos, aim to educate consumers about the importance of sourcing food that nourishes the body and a deep understanding for what we eat and where it comes from.
