REDEFINING WOMEN'S HEALTH WITH DR. LABIB
A Holistic Vision for Fertility, Vitality, and Beauty
COURTNEY MCGEE
2025

Dr. Labib Ghulmiyyah is not your conventional OBGYN. While he’s a double board-certified expert in obstetrics, gynecology, and maternal-fetal medicine, his approach to women’s health transcends traditional clinical care. From hormone optimization to gut health, genetic testing to corporate wellness, Dr. Ghulmiyyah blends cutting-edge science with a compassionate, functional lens—redefining what it means to truly care for women.
His message is clear: women are the foundation of society, and their health should be a top priority not only in the home, but also in healthcare systems, research institutions, and workplaces around the world.
“If the woman is healthy, the children are healthy, the husband is healthy, society is healthy,” Ghulmiyyah said to TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli and Anthony Lolli, Editors-in-Chief of longevity and wellness platform Biohack Yourself, in an interview for the influential upcoming women’s health documentary, “sHEALed.” “But right now, women are living 25% of their lives in poor health. That’s unacceptable.”
The sHEALed Documentary is the sister documentary to Biohack Yourself, which became a massive success after exploding on the scene in December 2024 and ignited a firestorm of interest in information focused on health and longevity. Biohack Yourself features 114 prominent and respected high-profile politicians, doctors, bestselling authors, Ph.D.s, M.D.s, scientists, chemists, inventors, biotech investors, and world-renowned academics. Stemming from the success of Biohack Yourself, TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli and Anthony Lolli have grown Biohack Yourself Media to become the number one resource for health news, publishing over 500 articles ranging from breaking news to peer reviewed content.
The Silent Crisis in Women’s Health
While women outlive men statistically, they also spend a greater proportion of their lives battling chronic illness. Autoimmune diseases, hormonal imbalances, pregnancy complications, and perimenopausal symptoms are on the rise—and often go under-treated or misunderstood.
“We need to acknowledge that chronic disease in women is affecting them earlier and more severely,” he said. “It’s not just a problem of aging—it’s happening in their prime years.”
To make matters worse, women are vastly underrepresented in clinical research. Only about 10% of health research funding goes toward women’s health, a statistic that Ghulmiyyah finds alarming and unjust.
“I never knew the full extent of it until I started looking at the numbers,” he said. “That’s what drew me into functional medicine—looking at root causes, not just band-aid solutions.”
Three Pillars: Fertility, Vitality, and Beauty
Ghulmiyyah’s practice—and philosophy—revolves around three foundational aspects of a woman’s well-being:
Fertility: Whether addressing hormone imbalances, thyroid dysfunction, or gut health, Ghulmiyyah emphasizes preconception care as vital to reproductive success. “Fertility isn’t a standalone issue. It’s influenced by toxins, nutrition, sleep, stress—even oral and vaginal microbiomes.”
Vitality: As a certified functional medicine provider, he works with patients to improve energy levels, optimize hormones, and reduce inflammation. “Burnout and fatigue are rampant, especially among women. My vitality formula targets these issues systemically.”
Beauty: But not in the superficial sense. Ghulmiyyah believes in a “beauty from within” approach. Collaborating with aesthetic surgeons, he helps women improve internal health before undergoing procedures like the Eve Lift, a modernized facelift for women in perimenopause and menopause. “If your hormones are imbalanced or your toxin load is high, the results won’t last. Health must come first.”

From Beirut to Biohacking
Dr. Ghulmiyyah’s pivot from conventional to holistic care was born from adversity. In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic and a devastating explosion in Beirut, his life was upended.
“I was burnt out and didn’t understand why,” he recalled. “I had low energy, no vitality. It wasn’t until I checked my hormone levels and toxin exposure that I realized I needed to change.”
That shift led to self-healing and sparked a passion for educating others. His wife’s difficult postpartum recovery and their son’s autism diagnosis deepened his commitment to integrative care.
“We worked on our son’s gut and diet and saw huge improvements. My wife’s postpartum journey inspired me to write a book on reframing the fourth trimester. And now, I’m writing another book—”Biohacking in Pregnancy”—because we need to apply safe, evidence-based optimization even during this critical time.”
A Call for Pregnancy Preparation
Dr. Ghulmiyyah stresses that pregnancy is a marathon, and like any major life event, it requires preparation.
“People plan for their weddings, for vacations, for baby showers—but not for pregnancy itself,” he said. “We need to flip that mindset. Preconception care matters.”
He recommends couples start preparing at least three to six months in advance, including:
Hormone and micronutrient testing
Detoxification and gut health optimization
Genetic and epigenetic screening
Sleep, stress, and emotional health assessments
“Understanding your genetics helps guide everything from prenatal vitamin selection to fertility interventions,” he said. “We’re entering an era where your DNA will be your new fingerprint—dictating how you eat, supplement, exercise, and even how you respond to medication.”
Solutions Through Synergy
One of Ghulmiyyah’s key collaborations is with Zenos Health, a line of evidence-based formulations that target women’s health issues at the cellular level. He emphasizes that these are not ordinary supplements.
“We call them formulations, not supplements, because the ingredients work in synergy,” he said. “Whether it’s gut health, fertility, or vaginal microbiome support, they’re designed to work together to optimize function.”
This holistic framework also applies to his work with Fab Fertile (a fertility optimization program) and Eden Plastics’ Eve Lift, bridging gaps between conventional care and integrative medicine.

Challenge the Status Quo, Starting Now
Dr. Ghulmiyyah’s approach is proactive and empowering. Here are key takeaways and action items from his work:
Start Preconception Care Early: Whether or not you struggle with fertility, begin preparing 3–6 months before pregnancy.
Embrace Genetic Testing: Understanding your DNA can guide nutrition, supplements, and fertility choices.
Balance Hormones Naturally: Work with a practitioner to evaluate thyroid, estrogen, testosterone, and cortisol levels.
Optimize Gut and Vaginal Health: A healthy microbiome improves fertility, pregnancy outcomes, and immunity.
Detox Your Environment: Reduce exposure to microplastics, pesticides, EMFs, and endocrine-disrupting chemicals.
Invest in Postpartum Recovery: Don't ignore fatigue or hormone shifts—address gut, iron, thyroid, and emotional health.
Support Beauty from the Inside Out: Prioritize cellular health to enhance and sustain aesthetic results.
Consider Functional Formulations: Use targeted supplementation strategies instead of over-the-counter multivitamins.
Engage with Corporate Wellness: Employers should prioritize women’s health to support performance and retention post-maternity.
Never Lose Hope: “Change is happening,” Ghulmiyyah says. “Women’s health is finally being prioritized.”

Looking Ahead: Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Beyond
Dr. Ghulmiyyah’s impact extends beyond his clinic. Through telemedicine, corporate workshops, and keynote speaking, he educates organizations on how to support women better—not just as patients, but as mothers, professionals, and leaders.
“80% of my clients are women,” he said. “If companies want to boost productivity and retention, they need to support women before, during, and after pregnancy. That means better maternity care, hormone support, and workplace wellness.”
His work signals a broader cultural shift—from reactive treatment to proactive optimization. “We cannot separate fertility from vitality, or beauty from wellness,” he said. “Women’s health is complex, interconnected, and deserves full-spectrum care.”
“Hope Is the Most Important Thing”
Despite the challenges he’s faced—political unrest, personal health struggles, and navigating a fractured medical system—Dr. Ghulmiyyah remains optimistic.
“Hope is the most important thing. We’re at the beginning of a health revolution, and women are finally being seen. To every woman out there: don’t give up. You are the pillar of your family, your community, and your future. And your health matters.”
