RFK Jr. Confirmation Hearing: Bipartisan Support and 800 Medical Experts Back HHS Secretary Nomination

A growing bipartisan movement is backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), highlighting his commitment to public health reform.

A coalition of millions of Americans from both the Republican and the Democrat parties believes Kennedy will curb pharmaceutical industry influence and restore public trust in health institutions.

"There are few people I know who embody the essence of science as a verb more authentically than Robert F. Kennedy Jr.," leading functional medicine doctor and author, Mark Hyman, recently shared.

"These systems – Big Food, Big Agriculture, and Big Pharma – are not merely resisting his efforts but are actively working to discredit him, often employing falsehoods and distortions to do so...resist falling prey to such manipulation."

Kennedy also has the support of over 800 medical professionals, who see his leadership as a chance to "make America healthy again." Their endorsement, written in a letter addressed to the Senate, points out how he will prioritize public well-being over corporate interests.

"By confirming Mr. Kennedy, you will empower a leader prepared to tackle these challenges head-on, delivering the bold, systemic reforms our public health system desperately needs," wrote the letter sent in December.

Despite his strong base of support, Kennedy Jr.’s nomination continues to face criticism. While figures, including his cousin Caroline Kennedy, have voiced opposition, momentum continues to build behind his appointment as HHS Secretary, driven by grassroots enthusiasm and endorsements from medical professionals.

Supporters emphasize Kennedy’s decades-long advocacy for public health and environmental reform, pointing out that his leadership will prioritize community health and hold powerful industries accountable.

"Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Kennedy has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to protecting the health and well-being of the American people," Sean M. O'Brien, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, said in the press release.

"His extensive work in addressing environmental and public health challenges has consistently prioritized practical, effective solutions that benefit families, workers, and communities across the nation."

The Senate Finance Committee will hold RFK Jr.'s confirmation hearing on January 29, 2025, where his qualifications and views will be scrutinized.
