Dr. Dawn Ewing has dedicated her career to advancing biological dentistry and integrative medicine, and she now brings her voice to the upcoming documentary "Bye Ol’ Dentistry." As the long-serving Executive Director of the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM), she has spent decades helping to set standards and certify true biological dentists, ensuring that the field maintains both integrity and scientific rigor.

From the producers of “Biohack Yourself” and “sHEALed,” Lolli Brands Entertainment introduces "Bye Ol’ Dentistry"—a documentary that reframes dentistry as a vital part of whole-body health. Through compelling patient journeys and insights from leading practitioners, the film challenges conventional methods and showcases biological dentistry as a modern, holistic alternative.

A Career of Service and Leadership

Dr. Ewing began her professional journey with a strong commitment to public health and emergency medicine. She served on the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and joined her local volunteer fire department in Fulshear, Texas, becoming a nationally registered paramedic. Over the course of 12 years on a 911 ambulance and four years as a flight medic for international air transport, she gained firsthand experience of how health crises affect lives. Alongside these roles, she taught CPR to the public and Advanced Cardiac Life Support to healthcare providers, becoming an affiliate faculty member of the American Heart Association in 1987.

Expanding into Integrative MedicineI

n 2001, Dr. Ewing deepened her expertise by earning a PhD in Integrative Medicine from Capital University in Washington, D.C. She became one of only a handful of practitioners applying Electro Acupuncture According to Voll (EAV) in dentistry, a diagnostic technique that helps identify hidden dental burdens that can affect overall health. Through this innovative work, she has helped patients uncover connections between oral issues and systemic imbalances often missed in traditional care.

Notable Achievements and Contributions

Beyond her role with IABDM, Dr. Ewing has authored the book “Let the Tooth Be Known,” appeared in the documentary “Root Cause,” and lectured widely on the principles of biological dentistry. She has also built a reputation as a dynamic and multifaceted individual: a private pilot, a certified diver, and founder of “Parrot’s Hilton,” an exotic parrot rescue and boarding facility. In January 2025, she transitioned into a semi-retirement phase while continuing to dedicate time to the causes and people she values most.

Why "Bye Ol’ Dentistry"?

Dr. Ewing joined "Bye Ol’ Dentistry" out of a strong belief in public education. As she explains, too many dentists promote themselves as “biological” without adequate training or understanding. Her presence in the film reinforces the message that biological dentistry is more than a trend—it is a rigorous discipline requiring deep knowledge, proper protocols, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Closing

Dr. Dawn Ewing’s story exemplifies a lifetime of service, education, and advocacy for safer, integrative approaches to dentistry and medicine. Her leadership continues to shape the field and inspire both practitioners and patients.

"Bye Ol’ Dentistry" is a groundbreaking documentary from producers Anthony Lolli and TereZa Hakobyan-Lolli that blends patient experiences with global expert insights to highlight how oral health impacts systemic wellness. Filmed across North America, Latin America, and Europe, the project challenges outdated practices and shines a spotlight on biological dentistry as a path to safer, more effective care.

With Dr. Ewing’s expertise and voice, the film underscores the importance of education, integrity, and innovation in shaping the future of oral health.
