# 'Fuller House' Star Dave Coulier Diagnosed With Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: 'I’ve Gone From A Virgo To A Cancer

"Fuller House" star Dave Coulier has been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

The 65-year-old actor revealed the devastating news in an interview with The Today Show on Wednesday. Coulier said he noticed his first symptoms just over a month ago after coming down with a cold--a lump as big as a golf ball in his groin.

“It swelled up immediately," Coulier recalled to [Today](https://www.today.com/health/news/dave-coulier-non-hodgkin-lymphoma-cancer-rcna179584).

After going through several tests, his doctors confirmed that he had B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

"It was a shock," he added.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymph system which is part of the immune system, the [National Cancer Institute](https://www.cancer.gov/types/lymphoma/patient/adult-nhl-treatment-pdq) explained. B-cell lymphoma is the most common type wherein cancer cells quickly grow in the lymph nodes and other organs.

Despite the news, Coulier said he tries to retain a sense of humor.

"My joke is that in four short weeks I’ve gone from a Virgo to a Cancer," the actor joked.

"I’ve had an incredible life. I’ve had the most amazing people in my life. This has been an extraordinary journey, and I’m OK if this is the end of the journey."

According to the [Cancer Research U.K.](https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/non-hodgkin-lymphoma/survival), 60% of people with B-cell lymphoma live 5 or more years after their diagnosis.

The news comes just days after "Dawson's Creek" actor [James Van Der Beek announced](https://www.biohackyourself.com/articles/james-van-der-beek-stage-3-colorectal-cancer) that he was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer.
