“My main biohack is breathwork,” Dr. Vuu said in the Biohack Yourself Documentary. “What it does is it quiets down part of our monkey brain. Our monkey brain, or what we call the default mode network, is actually something we start developing as kids. Then we start learning things from parents, from media, from society, from our schools, and from our teachers. We get hurt. Some people are in divorces, drugs, trauma, but even smaller things like not being seen, not being heard, or not being able to be themselves. And all of a sudden we put on this mask of who we think we need to be.”

He elucidates how our upbringing and societal pressures often lead us to adopt harmful mental frameworks, causing chronic stress and disease. "I would have to say that being present in my life remembering how lucky I am to be alive,” he explained in the documentary. “Always move my body. Always have meditation practice, breath work and being present with my family is what I go to most. Those are the non-negotiables.”
